China 2005 with Pacific Rim Travel (Search for comments by HURST)FROM 2005 (STATIC COPY / OLD LINKS) - Jeff Hurst Regina SK China South West Explorer Sept 9, 2005 Mike, I am just sorting through some of the 2000+ photos taken on my recent 22 day, China Southwest Explorer Special tour. I wanted to take a moment to thank you for arranging the trip and Peter for his company. I thought trip was a great value and showed me parts of the country I would have otherwise missed if traveling on my own. The Silk Factory tour was very interesting, but the Panda's in Chengdu was the overall best attraction. My main reason for booking this trip was to get to Guilin's Li River. I had heard and read so much about the area, but there is noting like see it, being right there on the river and enjoying the cruise. One comment, some of the local guides seemed "too" interested in getting us into the shops. I appreciate that fact that the shops are part of the program, but the attractions and what they have to offer should come first, then the shops and their goods. If you could forward this message to Peter, I would appreciate it. It has a couple photos attached he can give his wife, so she know what he looks like these days.
